Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority Briefs Members of American Chamber of Commerce in Korea

The Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority (GGFEZ) held an investment briefing for U.S. companies at the 2024 Sustainability Seminar hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea on September 26.
The GGFEZ presented the features and advantages of three districts: Pyeongtaek Poseung (BIX) District, an eco-friendly future mobility production cluster; Siheung Baegeum District, which is being developed as an unmanned land, sea and air vehicle and medical bio cluster; and Pyeongtaek Hyundeok District, which is creating a hydrogen economy city and global settlement environment.
The GGFEZ proposed investment environments and methods for each district, and introduced various benefits such as reductions on tariffs, acquisition taxes, and property taxes, as well as the provision of management support and one-stop business support administrative services. In addition, the business scale, business content and development concept of Goyang City and Ansan City were introduced for the further expansion of the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone.
Of particular note, Pacifico Energy Korea and EnergyX, members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea, presented various papers on the topic of “Sustainable Growth through ESG.” The event was attended by Ahn Ho-young, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Environment and Labor Committee, Kim Sang-hyeop, Chairman of the 2050 Carbon Neutral and Green Growth Committee, and William Cobb, Economic and Commercial Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul.
GGFEZ Commissioner Choi Won-yong said, “We organized the investment briefing at the Sustainability Seminar for members of the American Chamber of Commerce to attract investment from leading global companies… We will continue to actively promote offline investment briefings to strengthen the promotion and marketing of the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone.”
