Gyeonggi-do is receiving good response from rural residents for promoting underdeveloped, fishing and agrarian villages to transform to cultural villages to balance development with urban communities.
Currently, 9 districts – Baeksa area located in Seolseong, Icheon-si and Okcheon located in Yongmun, Yangpyeong, Pyeongtaek Godeok, Hwaseong Ujeong, Anseong Iljuk, Gapyeong Seorak and Gimpo Haseong- has already completed development.
Namyangju, Yangpyeong, Gimpo, Icheon and Yeoncheon, 6 districts have either began development or is being ready to.
These districts will have basic facilities such as road maintenance, drinking water facilities, and utilize facilities such as house improvement, welfare centers and playgrounds will also be established.
Various income resources to increase residential profit will be developed and also agricultural product market and storage facilities will be developed.
In addition, Gyeonggi-do will continue expanding the cultural village development plan and develop fishing and agrarian villages to be equally balanced in development with small and medium city standards.
