Due to the import liberalization of livestock products, domestic farms are required of competitive power. To accomplish this, Gyeonggi-do has outset a plan to develop a health drink made with eggs.

Gyeonggi-do said on Aug 7, it will support the G-mark certified company, Join Chemicals Co, Ltd which plans to develop a health-diet drink using eggs The province is currently requesting service from specialized organizations such as the Korea Food Research Institute

The yolk, which is the reason of overweightness, is removed from the egg during the development stage. The white of the egg which is full of protein is used in the drink Research of this project is expected to be completed late this year

If diet drinks using eggs are produced, processed products can be sold by its original cost and egg suppliers are guaranteed high profit

A representative of the company explained that the overweight population is increasing rapidly as the economy grows The ‘diet drink’ will provide necessary nutrient to individuals and removes fat The refreshment is expected to greatly contribute to promotion of health and people will be relieved from becoming overweight

Gyeonggi-do plans to support development of functional livestock products for stable supply and demand and improvement in competitiveness
