Gyeonggi-do will greatly contribute to the development of the kimchi industry within the province by entering 16 enterprises, including Sangchon Food Co., at the Kimchi Expo 2003. The Kimchi Expo is a fair introducing all kinds of kimchi, food made with kimchi and also kimchi material. 

Kimchi Expo 2003 will be held at the Agro-Trade & Exhibition Center (aT Center) located in Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, for five days, from Nov. 6 to 10. All sorts of kimchi and kimchi related products would be displayed at the fair. 

The 16 enterprises from Gyeonggi-do will be participating with 8 items and main items are kimchi, dumplings, traditional pottery, bossam kimchi and etc. 

Through this opportunity, Gyeonggi-do has organized an evaluation group with participating enterprises to discuss results, problems and improvements. This group will apprehend a systematic management to actively reflect on future fair participations. 

An official from the agriculture produce distribution bureau forecasts Kimchi Expo 2003 as a great opportunity to introduce Korea’s kimchi. Kimchi is popular for its preventive against SARS, the epidemic which hit the world early this year.
