China & Singapore Under SARS Emergency

After 5 months a SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) patient has appeared in Taiwan. This triggered another epidemic emergency among China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.
Korea has also officially announced the first step of SARS observation on Dec. 18. All tourists from Taiwan have to go through medical inspection of temperature examination and symptom inspection.
SARS quarantine are enforced 13 quarantine stations and until SARS monitor system on countries including Taiwan and Singapore are decontrolled, medication inspections will be held on any entrant from those countries.
The Health Ministry in Taiwan has announced on Dec. 18, “Two out of four travelers have been found with SARS symptoms and they are currently isolated from the public. The other 2 are currently sojourned in America.”
An official from the public health administration said, “The two associates who have been with the SARS patients participated a conference in Singapore on Dec. 7 and left for the U.S. These two are expected to return on Dec. 19.”
The Taiwan government has also isolated 18 passengers who have been on the Singapore plane with the SARS patients.
The Singapore government has taken measures of segregating 70 hotel and related personnel who might have had contact with the SARS patients while they stayed in Singapore.
