“Gyeonggi-do e-Trade Center” established to boost export marketing for small and medium enterprises

The Gyeonggi-do e-Trade Center that provides overall services to small and medium enterprises for exportation from contacting overseas buyers to concluding contracts has concluded 20 million dollars worth of export contracts last year. The center has held its reputation as an substantial e-trade assistant to small and medium enterprises. 

The Gyeonggi-do e-Trade Center has support 487 export enterprises last year and concluded 228 contracts worth 21.6 million dollars, which increased 215% compared to 2002. 

Companies such as Panwest (6.2 million dollars), Teravalue (540 thousand dollars), EC World (110 thousand dollars) and other companies have succeeded in export through the center’s contact service last years. 

The center’s 2004 plan to promote e-trade includes tax, customization, contact and real-time support, and this year’s export support goal is achieve 25 million dollars. 

Another set of 200 small and medium enterprises interested in e-trade will be selected by the center and these enterprises will be support for 1 to 2 years. About 700 enterprises in total will be chosen to receive full back up in e-trade. 

In addition, Gyeonggi-do e-Trade Center will operate a “Cyber Exhibition” in connection with the “1st Korean Auto Parts International Exhibition”, which will be held this year October. Through this event, opportunities of business talks between manufacturers of automobile parts and overseas buyers will be held on-line.
