For 154,787 foreigners living in it, which is a number larger than that of any other provinces in Korea, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office published an informative booklet as a living guide entitled Living in Gyeonggi Province: A Practical Guide for Foreigners.
The booklet contains a wide variety of information useful for foreigners in Korea, including introduction to Korea and the province, how to register as a foreigner, obtain visa for entry into the country or become a Korean citizen, in addition to the method of leasing or buying a house, getting medical service, using mass transportation means or utilities or telecom or banks, doing shopping, paying tax, or spending leisure time and doing sightseeing, complete with relevant photos and maps, not to mention information on finding employment opportunities, protecting the right as an employee, and how to contact embassies and counselors for foreigners when necessary.

A product of the efforts made by the provincial office that aims to be a globalized province, the booklet is welcomed by foreigners as a useful guide for their life in Korea, particularly on the occasion of the forthcoming 2005 – the Visit Gyeonggi Year.

The guide booklet for foreigners have been distributed to local government offices under the control of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office, counseling service offices for foreigners, embassies and private foreign language institutes.
