o Provincial tours for US troops in Korea on November 19 and 20

Gyeonggi-do will host tours of cultural sites and advanced industrial facilities for the US troops stationed in Pyeongtaek.

This event aims to promote understanding of Korean culture on the part of US troops, and is ultimately expected to facilitate the formation of a unique cultural community in which the soldiers and local residents can live in harmony.

The first two tour programs were held on July 15 and November 5, and following on the heels of their success 80 US soldiers from Osan Air Base (K-55) and Camp Humphrey (K-6) will participate in a tour on November 19. The program will include visits to Pyeongtaek Port, LG Electronics, Suweon Fortress, Hwaseong Palace, Korea Folk Village and the Hoam Art Museum, as well as a Korean pottery class.

The province plans to expand exchange programs between the local residents and US troops through events such as “Learning about Korean Culture,” “Pottery Lessons,” and “Sports Day with the Residents.”
