Gyeonggi-do’s trade delegation of representatives from 11 SMBs returned home from North America with a raft of great accomplishments. 

The province dispatched representatives from 11 SMBS with great marketability to distribution centers in North America – Atlanta and Dallas in the US and Vancouver, Canada. The delegation carried out aggressive marketing activities against high-price local distribution buyers to realize $77.49 million in trade consultation and $22.16 million in finalized contracts. 

There is a clear distinction between the distribution networks of low-to-mid-priced goods and high-priced goods; the former is sold through ordinary retailed stores, and the latter is sold through a dealer-distribution network. The existing low-to-mid-priced goods market is dominated by Chinese and Southeast Asian products, and extensive marketing competition exists in the high-priced goods market. 

The province supported SMBs of high-quality products that lack marketing abilities through a joint effort with KOTRA. Prospective buyers were sought and contacted prior to the visit, and intensive marketing support at B2B meetings allowed for the realization of this impressive accomplishment within the high-priced goods market of the US. 

Daewon Leisure from Hwaseong was offered exclusive trading options by many local buyers in Canada during its first attempt to enter the overseas market, after having concentrated only on domestic business. Its export venue is expected to open up widely. 

MainTech from Anyang received a positive response in its recent development of innovative hospital needles for IV injections. It is expected to receive continuous orders from hospital-related dealers in the US. 
A provincial official stated that Gyeonggi-do plans to tackle the North American niche market more aggressively using high-quality products.
