-Women’s IT Training Program Graduation Presentation 2004 – 

Women’s IT Training Program Graduation Portfolio Presentation will take place at the Gyeonggi Women’s Development Center (Director Cho Jeong-ah, www.womenpro.or.kr) located in Guseong-eup, Yongin, at 10am on December 21. 

Housewives attempted to become experts of the IT sector, flower of information and knowledge-based society by participating in the training program run by the Women’s Development Center of the province. The specialty areas included mobile content production, shopping mall creation, Linux and Java, XML/ Web Service, Digital video production that will be featured at the presentation. 

Women who had only stayed at home since the childbirth dedicated themselves to mastering all information in think IT textbooks for eight months. Their skills will now be put under the spotlight. 

An event official stated, “The graduation candidates are excited at thoughts of creating an Internet shopping mall, producing a digital film, and participating in a digital contents contest. Please show your support by attending to the presentation event.” 

65% of trainees from Gyeonggi Women’s Development Center were recruited or started their businesses every year. The center was selected as the “model for women’s economic empowerment through information and science education and business development assistance” by UNESCO/UNDP, and it was invited to the panel discussion at the WSIS.
