– Province Awards 6 Foreign Investors for Their Accomplishments – 

Gyeonggi-do awarded six foreign investors that made significant contributions to the province’s industrial development on December 31, 2004. 

The recipients of the awards are Korea Nitto Optical, Samsung Thales, Ulvac Korea, Seongweon Edward Corporation, Vogue Korea, Mosteck, and Delphi Korea. They were highly praised for superb business accomplishments and creating employment through their investments in Gyeonggi-do. They either have headquarters or plant units inside the province. 

The provincial governor Sohn Hak-gyu will attend the groundbreaking ceremony for Yongin Research Center of Samsung Thales, and he will deliver the award plaques to the aforementioned companies including Samsung Thales that realized introduction of $25 million foreign capital and employment of 300 research personnel while leading the province’s advanced technology transfer. 

Gyeonggi-do has awarded 12 companies based on investment, technology transfer, employment creation, and business accomplishments since a policy for awarding selected foreign investors was implemented on May 18, 1999.
