The province sponsored the trade delegate group to Amsterdam in the Netherlands to foster its SMEs’ growth as global companies in this era of economic war that knows know national boundaries. The group returned home with substantive fruits of success.

Gyeonggi-do dispatched 11 SMEs of great marketable potential as trade delegates to Amsterdam of the Netherlands for 7 days between January 24 and 30. The companies were warmly greeted by local buyers with great purchasing power for high-quality products. The event wrapped with an impressive accomplishment that included consultations worth $11.1 million of which $7.11 million finalized in contracts.

The province offered one-on-one technical support for companies with highly marketable products and little marketing capacity. Its effort is estimated to have generated the export finalization worth $250,000. Participants in the delegate event expressed their sincere appreciation for such a help.

One company from Hwaseong that participated for the first time in the delegate event was given much attention by European buyers. It requested for the province to continuously support the export activities because the company had lacked any ability or experience in marketing overseas despite its effort to develop new products.

A provincial official explained that Gyeonggi-do plans to tackle the European market more aggressively while continuing to provide the technical support.
