– The province’s SMEs held at a media spotlight from an information & telecommunication event in Mexico –
Gyeonggi-do dispatched 8 SMEs of great prospects from the province to an information & telecommunication event in Mexico between February 8 and 11 to be engaged in consultations worth $18.22 million of which contracts worth $2.24 million were finalized.
Expo Comm Mexico 2005 held in Mexico City is a specialized trade show in the information & telecommunication sector inclusive of mobile phones and network devices that has grown to cover the security and display sectors.
The province sponsored the trip of 8 SMEs that possess highly marketable products in the related sector to the trade show for the marketing and export promotion purposes. Companies that featured digital album, PDP, Internet phone, and CCTV camera goods were put at the center of everyone’s attention.
Many local newspaper companies and national broadcasting bodies paid much interest on Gyeonggi-do’s participation. One company that featured its technology used in “Electromagnetic Ionizing Air Purification System,” which is in high demand in Mexico City that suffer from a grave air pollution problem, was featured by a local broadcasting body’s interview and detailed introduction through a new technology program.
A company representative who took part in the event stated, “The participation bore much fruit in terms of export consultation that allowed us to understand the market characteristics and see the new potential. We will be able to use this experience in laying the groundwork for making entry into the South and Central American market. We hope to take part in the event next time as well.”
