A new factory completion ceremony for Koyo Thermo Systems Korea, Co., a company receiving Japanese investment, was held in Chupal Industrial Zone of Paengsung, Pyeongtaek on March 18. This ceremony was attended by some 100 people including Gyeonggi Provincial Governor Sohn Hak-gyu, Pyeongtaek Mayor Song Myung-ho, Chairman Uematz Dakatoyo of Koyo Thermo Systems, and President Arakawa Atzshi of Koyo Thermo Systems.
It has been only 10 months since Gyeonggi Provincial Governor Sohn Hak-kyu visited the head office of the company in Japan and signed an investment agreement. This company is a world leading cutting-edge firm producing core devices for LCD, PDP and semiconductor, which utilize ultra-precision thermo technology. Since a main factory that spread over 1,600 pyeong-area was built in 2002, the new factory in 2000 pyong land has been completed within mere three years.
Sohn pointed out that collaboration between cutting-edge technology of a foreign firm and outstanding manpower of Gyeonggi province has effectively took place for an immense synergy effect through Koyo Thermo Systems Korea. He also stressed that the company will make a great contribution to enhancement of technologies in the IT-LCD area of Korea and reinvigoration of local economy.
Products of the firm will be delivered to Samsung Electronics and LG-Philips. More than 85% or raw and supplementary materials will be procured domestically, and about 70 office and production workers are to be newly employed.
