Gyeonggi Province Regional Civil Servants Training Center will conduct a Korean language program for 18 civil servants from China’s Liaoning Province from November 1st till November 23rd for four weeks.

The training will cover learning basic everyday Korean, Korean economic, social, and cultural and civil servant systems, major policies of Gyeonggi Province, corporate fostering strategy and collaboration between Korea and China. Information interchange session between mutual civil servants will be held during a social gathering along with high ranking civil servants of Gyeonggi Province.

In addition to that, an opportunity to experience Korean traditional culture and economic development through a tour around the DMZ, Paju LCD Complex, POSCO, Gyeongju and Jeju Island will be offered. Director of Gyeonggi Province Regional Civil Servants Training Center, Mun-Yong Choi said, “We will do our best for the Chinese civil servants to learn Korean and experience various Korean cultures through the 4-week training program.”

Gyeonggi Province and Liaoning Province have conducted mutual personnel interchanges since forging a sisterhood relationship in 1993. The language program exchanges have been carried out between both provinces since 2001, after entering into a “Civil Servants Interchange Agreement” in April 2001. In June, 2005, 18 civil servants from Gyeonggi Province received four-week Chinese language training at the Economic and Political Academy in Liaoning Province.

The Gyeonggi Province Regional Civil Servants Training Center plans to undertake mutual training interchanges with China’s Guangdong Province from 2006, after signing up a Mutual Training Agreement between the two provinces on October 17, 2005.

The expansion of interchange process with China by Gyeonggi Province Regional Civil Servants Training Center is likely to contribute greatly to the activation of interchanges between the two regions, as well as enhancing an internationalized mindset of the civil servants in both provinces.
