The World Flower Exhibition Goyang, Korea 2006 will be held with the theme ‘Global Family with Flowers’ from April 28 to May 10 at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX). The exhibition started in 1997 and has been held every 3 years, and this yeari’s exhibition is the fourth one.

About 100 companies from 30 foreign countries and 150 domestic companies will participate in this year’s exhibition. Attractions include a Theme Hall decorated under the exhibition theme of ‘Global Family with Flowers’, the Ecology Hall which displays various insects and specimens and other exhibition halls like the World Hall, Korean Hall, Bonsai Hall, and the Multisense Experience Hall. About 100 new kinds of roses from all over the world will be exhibited in the World Rose Hall.

The sponsor has also installed an extra-large World Cup statue (7 m high, 4 m wide) to supplicate the Korean World Cup team during the exhibition period. This statue will be covered with over 100 thousand flowers of various kinds including pansy, marigold and impatiens and will be placed in the Observation Platform in the middle of the whole exhibition to be seen anywhere. All flowers on this statue are real and is expected to catch the eye of every viewer who visits this event. 

 
Six large, indoor theme gardens are also arranged including the Continental Garden where you can experience the comfort of life through the beauty of flowers from all over the world and the Kids Garden where topiaries are made into fun cartoon characters. Flower photograph contest, children’s ballet performance and other events are open to the public.

Ticket reservation is already underway and is sold with a 30% discount (Adults 7,000 won, Students 5,000 won, Children & Seniors 3,000 won). Advance tickets are sold at the NACF (National Agricultural Cooperative Federation) located in Goyang, Paju, Gimpo, Bucheon City and other branches, via Internet (Ticketlink (www.ticketlink.co.kr) & StarVanKorea (www.starvankorea.com)) or by phone at 1588-7890.
