Kiim’s address at the opening ceremony for the new year on Jan. 2, “Let’s accelerate Korea’s growth rate for our descendants”

Gyeonggi-do provincial governor, Kim, Moon-soo accelerates ‘Korea’s growth engine’.
Provincial governor Kim encouraged government officials at the opening ceremony of the new year held on Jan. 2 by saying “The Gyeonggi government will boldly discard and mend local issues this year. We all need to hold hands together in order to restart the new year.”

“A century of the past matches 5 years of the present, meaning that we are living in an age that changes rapidly. Alvin Toffler has recently said that the key to success in the future world is ‘speed.” added Kim.

Kim also requested ‘Speedy Administration’ and ‘Daedal Administration’ by adding “Individuals or organizations that cannot adapt to change will not survive to see the future. We all must be at the head of change in order to guarantee survival and prosperity.”

His address emphasized the importance of ‘speed’ in order for Korea to compete with rapidly growing China and technical Japan.

Starting with this ceremony, governor Kim visited Chamber of Commerce & Industries within Gyeonggi-do (Bucheon, Suwon, Seongnam, Icheon, Ansan, Siheung, Uiwang, Anseong, Hwaseong, Anyang, Gunpo, etc.) until Jan. 5 and he also plans to spend much of early 2007 to directly meet residents, businessmen and government officials.
