At the Paju camp of the Gyeonggi English Village, native English teachers from overseas, Korean students, and other local visitors will spend a great moment to experience beautiful Korean cultures.
On the 28th from 3PM, this cultural event named to be the ‘Day of Korea’ will start with various traditional games and sports such as Yut game, Tuho, Top Spinning, Feet Shuttlecock and etc. and also other various events would be provided such as cooking rice cake, flying kites and etc., participated with approx. 100 native teachers and visitors.
Followed by the various practical events provided in the first half, a very special time will be arranged for foreign teachers to give Sebae (respective bow) wearing Hanbok (Korean Traditional Clothing) and also to learn traditional tea etiquette. And during the evening session, a delicious Korean meal will be provided for a tasting.
Instead of the middle school students who often visit the village during the weekdays, about 450 military forces that visited the Village shown a very active participation in the event giving much more fun and energy into the event.
“This event will give a great opportunity to foreign teachers to experience traditional cultures of Korea but also to widen their understanding towards Korean youth. We will implement more active promotion and PR activities to the public to come and join the event.”, said the manager Lee, Yunjin of the Education and Training Team of Gyeonggi English Village.
