The Gyeonggi-do Institute of Health and Environment (President Kim Jong-chan) was designated as an Excellent Water Quality Inspector in the drinking water category of the 2007 accuracy evaluation of water quality inspection.

On September 12th, the Institute announced that it had received the grade of ‘appropriate’ in the accuracy evaluation conducted by the National Institute of Environmental Research, and its water quality analysis capability was publicly recognized through its designation as “Excellent Water Quality Inspector”.

This accuracy evaluation aimed to verify the water quality inspection capability of 114 institutes involved in the analysis of water quality, including institutes of health and environment in every city and province, local environmental offices, and private inspectors. Each of these institutes assess drinking water in terms of the levels of 8 types of harmful materials, and institutes with a total score of 70 are categorized as ‘appropriate’, while those with a total score below 70 are categorized as ‘inappropriate’.

An official from the Gyeonggi-do Institute of Health and Environment said, “We are working to ensure the quality of the drinking water in Gyeonggi Province, by actively responding to the tightening of drinking water quality standards, and the addition of micro-materials to the list of items measured.”
