The Gyeonggi International Travel Mart 2007, the largest-scale event of its kind in Korea, will be hosted at KINTEX in Goyang between November 15th and November 18th, 2007.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Mart, and 207 organizations and 570 businesses from 26 nations will participate in the event. The organizers have now completed preparations for the event, which will be packed with diverse domestic and overseas tourism displays, foods, and historical and cultural experiences.
In particular, this year’s Gyeonggi International Travel Mart is expected to provide some unique pleasures for visitors, as there will be a wide variety of interesting events, including Korea’s first noodle festival, a Korean Wave-wood promotion event, and a UCC festival related to culture and tourism.
In the World Noodle Festival, which will be participated in by seven nations including Italy, China, Japan, and Vietnam, renowned noodle chefs will hold live cooking demonstrations and serve dishes to the public. Visitors can participate in the event and taste the foods.
Visitors to the Mart can also gain experiences and buy products from the FTA Marketing Center and the Creative Agricultural Good Contest, and enjoy a wide range of special events, including craftwork lessons.
In addition, there will be a fan meeting with Korean Wave stars on November 17th, and actor Choi Bul-am, actress Kang Bu-ja, comedian Kim Heung-guk, and comedian Lee Yeong-ja will be special guests at this event. With a broad range of additional events, including the Korea-China Pan-Pacific Tourism Forum, B2B business consulting for overseas buyers, a press conference with overseas tourism offices, and presentations made by local governments for tourism agencies, the Gyeonggi International Travel Mart 2007 will be the largest-scale event in the Korean travel industry.
The stage outside the exhibition place will host a number of unique and interesting performances during the exhibition. Visitors can enjoy the folk cultures of various nations through the excellent performances of the world-class Chinese acrobatic team, Taepyeongmu of Anseong, the Pyeongtaek Wooddari peasant band, the Gyeonggi-province Korean classical music band, the Mongolian folk art team, the Philippine folk art team, and the Malaysian folk art team.
In the exhibition center, there will be a contest for prizes such as round-trip touring tickets to Southeast Asia and Jeju Island, MP3 players, digital cameras, hotel vouchers, tour gift certificates, and souvenirs from abroad.
The Gyeonggi International Travel Mart will open to the public at 11:00 A.M. on November 15th, with the ribbon-cutting time followed by the noodle festival and the folk art performances.
