A ground-breaking ceremony for the second Korea International Exhibition Center was held in Goyang, northwest of Seoul Friday.
According to KINTEX representatives, the 55,000 sq. m venue will be bigger than the first, and the two combined will become Asia’s fourth largest and the world’s 35th largest exhibition complex.

The project is expected to cost nearly W360 billion (US$1=W1,407), and is set for completion by September 2011. Gyeonggi Province says it hopes the second KINTEX will help attract global events like the International Telecommunications Exhibition and the International Exhibition of Textiles and Machinery.
