G-Fair 2009 (http://www.gfair.or.kr), a trade show of outstanding goods produced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), opened at KINTEX exhibition halls in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province on Sept. 24 and will be held until Sept. 26 for three days.

The show is organized by the Gyeonggi provincial government under the joint sponsorship of the Gyeonggi Small & Medium Business Center (GSBC) and the Small & Medium Business Centers Association of Korea (SMBCA). A total of 580 small and medium IT, electric and electronics makers will open 700 booths at the largest-ever show of this kind.

 

The opening ceremony of G-Fair 2009 was held in the first floor lobby in KINTEX exhibition halls 3. “We have so many innovative and cutting edge products made by small and medium firms in Gyeonggi province. I really hope that G-Fair is a great opportunity for them to introduce their products to the world,” Kim Moon-soo, Governor of Gyeonggi Province said in his opening speech.

There are about 400 foreign buyers from 20 countries participating in the show and about 2,000 Korean SMEs participating to make an opportunity to introduce their products to world buyers. Additionally, a job expo is also being held in the show including 100 companies and 10,000 applicants. On the other hand, there will be seminars on strategies to advance into overseas markets, presentations on outstanding technologies developed jointly by businesses and universities, and special lectures on the operation of online shopping malls.

 

The Organizing Committee of G-Fair 2009 led a booth tour for about an hour with Kim Moon-soo, Governor of Gyeonggi Procince and other participants after they celebrated the opening of G-Fair in a tape-cutting ceremony.

Meanwhile, as a precaution against H1N1 flu, the Gyeonggi government and the GSBC have installed a heat detection camera at the entrance of the exhibition halls, in addition to hand and footwear sanitizers, and have an ambulance standing by.
