The Gyeonggi Green & Agriculture Foundation (GGAF) is holding the Beautiful Green Farm Villages Photo Contest. Applications will be accepted until November 21, 2010; a total of 63 pictures will selected, and a prize purse of KRW 2 million will be presented to the grand prize winner.

The contest focuses on the landscapes, houses, villages, urban forests and parks in the farm, mountain and fishing villages of Gyeonggi Province; it will consist of a ‘past’ section and a ‘present’ section. Any Korean can enter the contest; however, the location is limited to Gyeonggi Province.

The photo contest is expected to reveal the beauty of farming, mountain and fishing villages in Gyeonggi Province while providing an opportunity to foster green cities and wholesome farm villages.

Each photo should be at least 1,024-by-768 pixel and in jpg file format. A maximum of three photos can be entered by each entrant. Applications can be made via www.ggaf.or.kr.

A total of 63 works will be selected and KRW 11.4 million awarded; a grand prize winner (prize money of KRW 2 million), two gold prize winners (prize money of KRW 1 million), two silver prize winners (prize money of KRW 500 thousand), three bronze prize winners (prize money of KRW 300 thousand) and 55 participation prize winners (prize money of KRW 100 thousand).

The photo contest is being held for the third time by GGAF. Entries are saved in a database and exhibited in cities and counties.
