Seongnam Culture Art Festival’s Star: the Audience

Seongnam’s biggest culture festival will run until October 31st at Moran Market, the Seongnam Art Center, the Namhansanseong Fortress Recreation Area, and other parts of the city.
This year will mark the local festival’s 25th anniversary. It began on September 17 with a screening of the film Frontline as part of the Citizen’s Film Festival.
On September 29th comes the Gukak Fusion Nanta at Moran Market, followed by a gayageum performance with song, Seonsoritaryeong or Gukakje Festival.
This year there will again be a Citizens Singing Contest at Namhansanseong Fortress Recreation Area on October 12th.
At Seongnam Art Center’s Ensemble Theatre, there will be a dance festival for children, teens, senior citizens, and professional dangers. On October 22nd, the Seongnam Citizen Center will host a drama festival. Again at the Seongnam Art Center’s Ensemble Theatre on October 23rd, there will be a writing contest for citizens.
2011 Earth Art Exhibition at Seongnam City Hall’s Nuri Hall from October 13th to 28th, photograph exhibition. On October 27th to 31st, the Korea Design Center will display photographs by the Seongnam Photography Association.
At the Namhansanseong Fortress Recreation Area at 6pm on October 2nd, a celebratory performance for the cultural art festival will be held before an audience of 1,000 people.
Celebrity performers such as Kim Soo-hee, Cho Hang-jo, Han Seo-kyoung, and Dosiuiaideul (City Kids) will open the show. An extravaganza consisting of traditional Mexican music, violet fusion music performances, street mimes, a performance by the Seongnam Nongak Preservation Association of Orittul Nongak, performances by the Bundang Wand Orchestra and the Bundang Philharmonic Orchestra, and a pungmul performance by Huimang Cheonsa (Hope Angel) will bring out everyone¡¯s festive spirit.
There will be stalls from ten in the morning until six in the afternoon. Visitors can experience folk culture from around the world, make traditional masks and necklaces, experience nail art, make paper crafts, build robots, and much more.
