After the opening of the first Gyeonggi Business Center in Shanghai, Gyeonggi Province has established a second Gyeonggi Business Center in China with the opening of the Qinyang office in Liaoning Province to support local businesses and advancement in the Chinese market.
Gyeonggi Province celebrated the opening of the Qinyang Gyeonggi Business Center at the SK Daeha Building in Qinyang at 11:00 a.m. on September 22nd. Gyeonggi Vice-governor Kim Seong-ryeol, the Vice-governor of Liaoning, the Deputy Mayor of Qinyang, the Chairman of CCPIT Qinyang, and Qinyang Korean Embassy staff gathered for the occasion.
The Qinyang office occupies a 142 qu space on the 15th floor of the SK Building. Three regularstaff members will work there, assisting the chief in opening new routes for small and medium businesses based in Gyeonggi Province. From marketing and legal advice to identifying new export routes and more, the office supports all facets of business.
The office in Qinyang will also play the role of an overseas handler for companies that cannot afford to have one otherwise. It will act as a proxy in processing business-related documents and perform tasks that any other overseas office would undertake.
Vice-governor Kim said in his speech that: “Liaoning has been Gyeonggi Province’s sister province for the past eighteen years. I believe our new Qinyang office will boost the countries’ relations and play an important role in expanding trade between the two regions.”
Qinyang is the largest traffic hub in northeast China and is adjacent to Bohai Bay, a very active economic area. Its IT and precision industries are growing at a tremendous rate. Gyeonggi Province¡¯s goal is to connect these highly developed industries with its own, allowing local businesses to find new markets in China.
With this latest addition, Gyeonggi Province now operates seven overseas offices. Since the local government opened an office on September 2009 in Los Angeles, it has expanded its branches to Mumbai, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, and Kuala Lumpur.
In conjunction with the opening event, Gyeonggi Province is hosting the 2011 Qinyang G-Fair in Liaoning Industry Exhibition Hall No. 2 from the 22nd to the 25th. It will be run by GSBC, Qinyang City, and the China International Trade Promotion Board (Qinyang branch), with 150 representatives of 83 select exporters from the provinces of Gyeonggi, South Jeolla, and North Gyeongsang.
Song Yu-Myeon, Director of Gyeonggi Provincae’s International Affairs& Trade Division, said, “G-Fair Qinyang is being held in conjunction with the 5th Northeast Asia Trade Association, which is a great opportunity for companies seeking to enter the Chinese market.”
