Gyeonggi Livestock G Festival Held in and around the Suwon World Cup Stadium

Visitors Can Sample Livestock Products of Gyeonggi Province and Buy Them at Low Prices

A livestock festival was held near the Suwon World Cup Stadium, offering consumers an opportunity to buy good livestock products at low prices. The Gyeonggi Provincial Government held the 2011 Gyeonggi Livestock Festival in the plaza of the Suwon World Cup Stadium on October 7.

The two-day festival was designed to create an opportunity for the livestock industry to recover from the recent outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease and prepare for the advent of free trade agreements. The event was a good opportunity for people to experience the livestock industry of Gyeonggi Province and to sample excellent livestock products.

An array of events and programs were launched with the opening ceremony on October 7, including a superior Korean cattle contest, an athletics meet for those who work in the livestock industry, a children’s painting contest, and discount sales of livestock products.

Events held in the stadium included the Gyeonggi G Brand PR Center, the Gyeonggi Province PR Center, the Livestock Equipment PR Center and the Livestock Organization PR Center, and the Beautiful Farm Photo Exhibition. The festival organizers also ran experience programs for families, including the Gyeonggi Livestock Theme Farm, Exotic Zoo, and an oxcart.

Visitors were able to enjoy samples of beef and pork and buy them at low prices. Children and teenagers could enjoy petting the animals and experiencing the mood of an agricultural area. The closing ceremony on August 8 included the award ceremonies for superior beef cattle, winners of the athletic meet, and general winners.

“The livestock industry of Gyeonggi Province should win the competition with other countries by producing world-class livestock products,” said Governor Kim at the opening ceremony. To do so, high-quality livestock products should be sustainably consumed. To that end, Gyeonggi Province is promoting the stable consumption of high-quality livestock products through a school food program. We are responsible for developing the school food program into a major supply channel for Korean livestock products. They also shouted, “Go, Gyeonggi Livestock Industry!”
