World Female LPGA representative Choi Na-yeon held a Share the Love Bank Account handover ceremony in Osan, her hometown, on the afternoon of December 13.
The handover ceremony was attended by Kwak Sang-wook, mayor of Osan, Chairman Kim Gi-beom of KDB Daewoo Securities, Principle Han Gap-su of Seongho Elementary School, and 40 students.
The Osan native was the runner up in the US Women’s Open this year. Along with KDB Daewoo Securities, she handed over the Share the Love Bank Account equaling KRW 76.8 million to 32 Seongho Elementary School students. The young students will receive KRW 200,000 per month for a year. Choi herself was a student at this school many years ago.
Seongho Elementary School will celebrate its 100-year anniversary in 2013. Its long history and tradition has earned recognition from Osan City as a Mulhyanggi School (school with special achievements).

Choi also donated 10 desktop computers and renovated the computer lab at Osan’s Multicultural Family Support Center. She was also seen making kimchi at the city hall with 30 of her fans. That same day, 500 heads of kimchi were sent out to seven children’s centers and two group homes.
Golfer Choi Na-yeon stated, “My career was able to reach new heights thanks to the support from my hometown. It was my mission to give back as much as I could to the community that has been so supportive. I hope my small efforts are able to make people happy.”
Mayor Kwak Sang-wook said, “As a graduate of Seongho Elementary School Choi has practiced the virtue of sharing. She is Osan city’s greatest pride. The city will continue the Mulhyanggi Innovative School Program in conjunction with four schools including Seongho to develop Osan as a city representing quality education. We need to offer greater education to future talents.”
Choi Na-yeon has been involved in charity work since she debuted in 2005, including supporting young orphans and medical funding for ailing children, to name a few.
