Gyeonggi Province to open “Green Outdoor Pine Scented Classroom, Healing Forest” next year

The largest forest experience center with pine trees and other facilities will open in October of next year.
Gyeonggi Forest Environment Research Center is adding the final touches to Green Outdoor Pine Scented Classroom, Healing Forest, located at San 92-1, Haenghyeon-ri, Sang-myeon, Gapyeong-gun according the municipal government.
The Green Outdoor Pine Scented Classroom, Healing Forest project looks to open the largest pine forest to residents, where they can learn more about natural forest habitats and experience a relaxing environment. The municipal government has funded just over KRW 7 billion and the central government KRW 2.95 billion, tallying up to a budget close to KRW 10 billion. The construction began in 2005 and is scheduled to open in October 2013. It is currently seventy-five percent complete.
The Green Outdoor Pine Scented Classroom, Healing Forest is a forest experience center that consists of an ▲exhibition hall ▲timber culture experience center ▲slash-and-burn farmer villages and ▲forestry management model forest. The forest of healing also includes the ▲Health Promotion Center, a traditional Korean building ▲healing forest trail ▲forest park ▲outdoor meditation center ▲qi gym ▲walkway, and other facilities.
Green Outdoor Pine Scented Classroom, Healing Forest will ▲propagate forest culture, nature observation, wood craftsmanship experience ▲help visitors monitor health conditions ▲offer meditation classes ▲walkway through the forest ▲offer ondol experience (Korean traditional floor heating) and other forest related experiences.
A Gyeonggi Province official stated, “The new forest theme park is close to the capital city, only one hour away by car. People, especially Gyeonggi Province residents, can escape the city and lose themselves in the pine forest, learning more about nature, and find inner peace through meditation. This will improve overall health by boosting their natural immune systems.”
