I introduced summer vacation spots in Gyeonggi Province for the past two months.
A few of them received great response, and I expect many of you will perk up at this item I am about to introduce.
If you don’t want an ordinary vacation or cannot go on a long vacation, this will hit the spot!
The “unique and luxurious leisure item” will show you a really special way to enjoy your vacation.

1. Paragliding: Fly up high and be the wonderful moon in the sky

A few days ago, I looked up at the sky by chance in Seodoksan and saw paragliders flying leisurely up in the sky.
I was so captivated by the colorful crescent paragliders that I was not aware of the beads of sweat dribbling down my neck. Then I began to wonder:

How much does it cost to go paragliding?

I prepared this for those of you who wonder about the same thing.
The unique and luxurious leisure item that will blow away the late summer heat!

The first thing is paragliding, which is imprinted in my heart as a crescent moon.

Paragliding is a compound word for parachute and hang-glider. It has both the stability of a parachute as well as the gliding and speed of a hang-glider.
You can enjoy paragliding in many gliding areas in Gyeonggi Province, such as Mt. Yumyeongsan in Yangpyeong, Namhansanseong Fortress in Seongnam, Parabong in Gwangju, Mt. Seodoksan in Gwangmyeong, Mt. Jeonggwangsan in Yongin, Gukmangbong in Pocheon, Mt. Gubongsan in Daebudo, Mt. Bulgoksan in Bundang, and Mt. Bultansan in Gwangju.

Then what about price, the most desirable information? A ten-minute experience costs about KRW 70,000 to 100,000. You will fly on a two-seater with a professional.

Of course, as I said, paragliding can be easily learned by people of both genders and all ages. So if you receive training for three to four hours, you can fly by yourself on a gentle 50 m slope.

2. Summer ski: Nothing is more refreshing

If you think of major leisure sports in winter, what pops into your mind? It might be skiing or sledding.
Can you believe that you can enjoy the extreme leisure sports on snow this summer?
Bucheon makes it possible.

9.jpg Images10.jpg Images11.jpg Images

It is the Snow City of Woongjin Play City, where you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding and sledding year-round.
It is the only indoor ski resort in Korea and the 12th in the world.

The ski slope here is 270 m and has such a variety of courses for practice that it is almost unbelievable that it is indoors.

You can ski safely regardless of weather or season on the slope with year-round soft snow quality and a gradient adequate for training. The extreme zone, equipped with various kickers and equipment, is always popular among snowboarders.

Another good thing about the indoor ski resort is that it has a moving belt which travels at a speed of 3 km/h instead of a ski lift with long lines.

There is a snow park on the right side of the indoor ski resort where you can experience life in the North Pole inside igloos and enjoy exciting sled rides. The sledding site consists of seven safe straight courses with the total length of 100 m. You can use a three-seater tube sled to ride with your friends, family or lover.

What’s more, you can enjoy a horror experience, which is essential to beat the heat in the summer!! The Snow Horror Village newly opened in the indoor ski resort provides a variety of experiences with ghosts and monsters of the East and the West. The temperature between 0℃ to 4℃ doubles the creepiness. The Snow Horror Village is open only from July 27 to August 31, so hurry if you want to visit.

3. Zip Wire: The most thrilling way to cross rivers

To get to Nami Island, you can purchase the VISA (admission ticket) at the Immigration Office of Naminara Republic, pass through the Immigration Checkpoint, and take the boat.
Fun, but quite complicated.

So let me tell you a more interesting way to get there.

It is an extremely thrilling way, kind of like jumping over a fence or smuggling yourself into the place: you hang onto a rope in midair and slide across the river.

This bold means of transportation is called Zip Wire.

15.png Images

Zip Wire is a means that enables the rider to tear through the wind on a single wire and cross the waterway from the 80m-high tower at the Nami Island Dock to Nami Island. There is no other power source but the rider’s gravity (in other words, weight) to fly across the sky at maximum speed of 80 km/h in a free fall without power. This is an environmentally-friendly leisure sport, which is the most important issue nowadays.

You can enter Nami Island through Zip Wire and get out on a boat.
You can also ride Zip Wire to enter Jaraseom Island. The second destination is located in Jaraseom Island 640 m away.

This makes another reason to visit Nami Island, adding a dynamic experience to the pleasant sights.

Do you know the helicopter rappel from ranger training? You cry out the name of your beloved and slide down with your whole body depended on a single rope. This is somewhat similar.

So how about it?
Call out the names of your family, friends and lover and run toward the beautiful island!

Zip Wire connects not merely an island and inland but our dreams, memories and our once-awkward relations.

4. Bungee jumping: One, two, three! Bungee!

There is one thing you must do once in a lifetime: throwing yourself into the air on a bungee cord at the end of the summer.

19.jpg Images

I think bungee jumping may be the most thrilling event I am introducing today. Bungee jumping has many strict limitations regarding age or weight, but no other leisure sports can measure up to the thrill of it.

Bungee jumping is divided into body jumping and ankle jumping. Body jumping is most commonly used by beginners, and users wear harness on the upper and lower parts of their bodies and connect the bungee cord to the back or the chest.

Those with some experience also do ankle jumping, tying the bungee cord to both ankles. The ankle jumping has three rebounds after falling, bouncing your body three times. Whew, it makes me gulp just thinking about it.

The fee is KRW 40,000-60,000, and don’t forget to make a reservation in advance because it takes some time for each and every person.

One, two, three!! Bungee~~~
