On September 25, the first day of their visit to the United States, the Gyeonggi Provincial delegation headed by Governor Kim Moon-soo signed an LOI with a business identified only as “A” for an investment in Gyeonggi Province in a ceremony held at the office of the said business in West Point, Georgia.

Under the LOI, the U.S. business will invest USD 34 million to build a factory at Jangan Industrial Complex, Hwaseong over the next five years for production of car door trims and chairs. The Gyeonggi Provincial Office expects that the investment will create about 200 new jobs.

On the morning of September 27, the delegation paid a visit to KAET in Los Angeles to sign an MOU for a joint venture with KCC Transport Systems. Under the MOU, KCC Transport Systems will provide funds to KAET, which will invest USD 5 million to build a factory in the Hyeongok Industrial Complex in Pyeongtaek for the production of unit load devices.

In the afternoon, the delegation moved to San Diego and signed an MOU with Air Products for an investment of USD 70 million over the next 5 years to build a factory for the production of industrial gas (i.e. high-purity nitrogen and hydrogen), which is used in the manufacture of semiconductors in Neung-dong, Hwaseong.

On September 28, the last day of the visit to the United States, the delegation signed an agreement with Nano Facture in Los Angeles and KNR in Yongin Korea for an increase in their investment amount. Based on the agreement, KNR will invest USD 10 million to expand the existing factory in Yongin.
