From the 6th to the 16th of November, the task force from Gyeonggi Province will be an investment promotion trip to promote the province’s major industries, of automobiles, electronics and special chemicals, to countries such as Russia, Germany, France, and Spain.

The Gyeonggi Province government said on the 5th that this is a part of their most recent effort to utilize the European market that’s recently showing signs of revitalization. The trip aims to brief hidden technological champions in Europe on the advantages of investing in the province.

During the trip, the team will also promote the investment conditions in Gyeonggi Province to the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (ZVEI), the Fédération des Industries des Equipements pour Véhicules (FEIV), and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), along with meeting with individual companies.

Russia, in particular, has been considered as an “investment wasteland,” but it boasts of globally leading source technologies and state of the art technologies. Thus, there’s high hope for the team to gain some fruitful results from Russia during this campaign.

According to a provincial official, “Our investment performance with Europe has been relatively poor so far compared to other countries that are invested in Gyeonggi. This time, we are determined to achieve tangible results by making all-round efforts that include selectively working with industries that have a high potential and cooperating with local organizations and associations. ”

The results of this trip to Europe will provide the province with hints on detailed cooperation plans, such as joining the membership of the European, German, and French Chambers of Commerce in Korea in order to establish stable investment and cooperative networks with local and overseas organizations.
