Gyeonggi Province Takes Part in the Korea Regional Hope Expo 2013,

Gyeonggi Province will have an official pavilion at the 「Korea Regional Hope Expo 2013」, which is to be held under the slogan of, “Hope for the region and happiness for the citizens,” from November 27th to 30th at BEXCO, Busan.

President Park Geun-hye; Kim Moon-soo, the Governor of Gyeonggi Province; the heads of 17 local governments; 8 major ministers; and many other administrative figures and citizens will participate in this year’s expo. The organizers of the expo aim to share the vision of the region to realize this new era of happiness during the first year of President Park’s administration with a variety of events and conferences on local developments, investment consulting, etc.

The province plans to present the concept of, “The Gyenggi Province government will communicate with citizens via joyful contact” and “Gyenggi Province is a place where citizens lead happy lives.” They will do so through 4 models of communication including contact with citizens, peace-oriented communication, communication for resolving all kinds of civil complaints and contact with the world.

The Gyeonggi pavilion will introduce the administration’s principle of, “Infinite Care,” and will do so with case studies and examples such as the “Unjena” (translated: ‘Always’) office, which is the only civil affairs office that is open 24/7 in Korea; “Domin Anbang,” which is an on-demand visiting consultation service; “Moohan Dolbom Center,” which is a center with diverse welfare services; and the “Tong Café,” which is a multi-culture company set up by local residents.

The province’s plan for the World Peace Park will be presented too. The plan includes the blueprint for turning the DMZ (demilitarized zone) into a global brand as the safest ecological park in the world where history, nature, and peace co-exist, The practical concept of the World Peace Park will be presented as being a place that protects the all of the DMZ beginning from a small area and then expanding to the North Korean territory near the Civil Control Line.
Goyang Hallyuworld, which is a cultural complex that is currently being set up in the province as a base for spreading the Hallyu (Korean wave) , introduces projects that are well under way such as building a K-POP arena. Also global enterprises, including Samsung Goduk Industrial Complex, who are investing in the province, will present the audience with information about the investment environments and visions of Gyeonggi via diverse booths and installations.

GTX (great train express), which is being promoted as a metropolitan transportation innovation, shall be presented as the ultimate alternative for the current problems that exist in metropolitan transportation systems. There will also be a wall-mounted 3D display of major logistics infrastructures, such as Pyeongtaek Port, to show how Gyeonggi has been enabled with diverse means of transportation.

The Gyeonggi Province government expects to promote its excellent regional development polices and citizen oriented services through the Korea Regional Hope Expo 2013, and they will actively support projects that focus on the happiness of the residents in their area.
