Country Manager of ATMI Korea, Steve Jang said, “Korea is a leader in the global semiconductor and display technology industries and its strength is that key customers and supply chains are in close proximity. It will be harder to make breakthroughs as semiconductor techonology migration continues and new technology are introduced. Therefore, we feel a sense of duty to spur the development of new advanced technology through close collaboration with our customers”.
Gyeonggi Province has already signed an MOU in May of 2011 with ATMI in the amount of USD 30 million for the production of chemical materials for semiconductors and displays.
Vice Governor for Economic and Political Affairs of Gyeonggi Province, Nam Choong-hee, who was present at the ceremony vowed, “We hope that ATMI, a world-renowned company, will continue to be successful with its new facility in Korea, utilizing the advanced industrial infrastructure and the excellent R&D human resources.
