Gyeonggi Province will hold an ‘Investment Promotion Advisory Group Meeting’ to look back on its foreign investment promotion activities during its two consecutive terms and discuss ways to vitalize the investment promotion activities, considering the changing investment environment in Korea and abroad.
In the meeting, seventeen investment promotion advisors, including executives of purchasing divisions of global manufacturing companies, professors of investment promotion and tourism development and attorneys from law firms, will be in attendance to discuss ways to promote foreign investment.
In addition, there will be discussions on attracting high-tech industries that can cooperate and collaborate with local companies, service industries that have great impact on creating huge number of new jobs, headquarters of global companies that contribute greatly to the economy and R&D centers. Also, three new advisors will be appointed during the event.
Gyeonggi Province Investment Promotion Advisory Group was formed in 2006. From 2013, the fourth advisory group will serve a two year term. These members play a special advisory role in areas such as establishing Gyeonggi Province’s foreign investment policies, improving systems, providing expert advice on foreign investment attraction and discovering new foreign investors.
An official from Gyeonggi Provincial Government said, “The advisory group’s cooperation and advice was of great help in finding and attracting large-scale qualified investors, such as NEG and BASF. We will continue to work closely with the advisory group to diversify investment promotion activities and improve the investment environment for foreign enterprises”.
