Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation, recruits the 1st Session of the G-UM University Student Voluntary Service Group

 

 

 

Participated in remodeling of the welfare facilities in the Province with “Habitat”, an international NGO

 

Outstanding volunteers will have opportunity to participate in Timber Architectural School of Habitat.

 

 

 

The Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation will be pursuing further expansion of the social contribution activity fields along with 30 university students.

 

 

 

The Corporation announced on the 21stthat it will jointly recruit the 1st group of the ‘Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation G-UM Voluntary Service Group’ with “Habitat”, an international NGO.

 

 

 

‘G-UM Remodeling Project’ is a program selected as an outstanding project in thePublic competition on social contribution ideas in 2013 and will be providing an opportunity for social voluntary services as well as an opportunity for the university students with interest in architecture to acquire practical experiences through the remodeling of the obsolete and dilapidating welfare facilities for aged in the Province.

 

 

 

Students wishing to participate in the event can download the application form from the websites of the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporationor Habitat Korea, and submit it by the 24thnext month.

 

 

 

There is no participation fee and university student can apply individually or in groups (6 persons per group). A total of 30 students will be selected.

 

 

 

The final selection will be announced on August 29 through the websites of the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation and Habitat Korea.

 

 

 

The selected G-UM Voluntary Service Group will have a welcoming ceremony in September and will participate in a wide range of activities including remodeling (wallpaper, floor covering and thermal insulation works, etc.) following the gathering of design ideas for remodeling of the welfare facilities.

 

 

 

In particular, outstanding volunteers among the university student voluntary service group will be selected and the opportunity to participate in the Timber Architecture School of Habitat (valued at 2 million Won) will be given in an effort to actively support the voluntary service activities of the participants.

 

 

Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation has been implementing a wide range of social contribution programs including ‘G-Housing’ for improvement of the residential environment of the low-income families in Gyeonggi-do since 2007, and will continuously expand the execution of the ‘G-UM Remodeling Project’.
