To consistently unfold projects improving living environments to assist early settlement in Korea
Employees of Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation are warming the hearts of people by engaging in volunteering activities for multi-cultural families in need despite the hot weather.
On the 23rd, Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Corporation revealed that ‘Creating a happy living environment’ volunteer activity that replaced inadequate living environments were offered, replacing the wall and floor papers in households of multi-cultural families living in Seonbu-dong, Danwon-gu, Ansan City.
This activity which has taken place consistently since last year designates households that require immediate maintenance and replaces the wall and floor papers with the assistance of ‘Emma House Multi-cultural Center’.
In particular, precious perspirations were seen on the faces of the volunteers from Residential Welfare Department who took part amidst the heat in order to remove molds within the house which are bound to be created during the rainy seasons and to create a pleasant living environment.
The Corporation improved the living conditions of 10 neglected households last year and it is planning to present a pleasant living environment to a total of 20 multi-cultural families by the end of this year.
Yang Nak Mo, Head of the Residential Welfare Department stated, “Plans have been made to consistently engage in projects that would improve the living environment of multi-cultural families faced with social and economic difficulties so that they would be able to settle down in our country early” and that “We will become a representative corporation that would open the doors to a happy world by sharing.”
