Gyeonggi Province and China-based Beijing Bridging Consulting Co., Ltd. signed an agreement to work together to attract investment into various development projects implemented in the province during a brief ceremony held in the Gyeonggi Governor’s Office on August 4.

The signing ceremony participants included: Gyeonggi Province Governor Nam Kyung-pil; Zhangmingzhou, CEO of Beijing Bridging Consulting Co., Ltd.; Choi Hyun-deok, Assistant Governor for Economy and Investment of Gyeonggi Province; Song Ki-chull, former Secretary General of the Suwon World Cup Stadium Management Foundation; Han Woo-duk, Director of the China Research Institute at The Joongang Ilbo; and Kim Eon-sik, DSD Samho CEO. At the ceremony, the participants discussed how to promote cooperation between the province and China-based investors.

Under the agreement, Gyeonggi Province will introduce development projects and investment areas to Chinese investors, while Beijing Bridging Consulting will introduce Chinese investors to Gyeonggi Province.

The two parties agreed to hold working-level meetings twice a year to discuss the projects.

“The relationship between Korea and China has been upgraded to a strategic cooperative partnership, and China has now emerged as one of the largest trading partners of Korea,” said Governor Nam. “The bilateral relations have been further strengthened with President Xi Jin-ping’s state visit to Korea on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of reestablishing diplomatic relations.”

Governor Nam also stated: “The number of Chinese visitors to Korea has increased an average of 30% per year over the last five years, and the number is expected to reach the 20 million mark by 2018. The supply of accommodations has become an urgent matter, and this agreement is very important in this regard. Please take great interest in Gyeonggi Province and provide full support for investment.”

“Beijing Bridging Consulting Co., Ltd. has been selected as an institution to participate in the project for reinforcing humanities-based partnerships between Korea and China. I am deeply grateful to Gyeonggi Province for taking the initiative in bilateral exchanges, and I hope that this investment agreement will provide an opportunity to build stronger relations between the two countries,” said CEO Zhangmingzhou.

Beijing Bridging Consulting Co., Ltd., has its headquarters in Beijing with branches in Qindao and Seoul; it engages in six sectors of business including inter-governmental exchanges, business joint ventures, and inter-industry buyer matching. In July, it was assigned a working-level role in a KRW 500 billion project for the supply of LED materials to Korea-based SKC and China-based TCL Group. Last year, it signed tourism business agreements with the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, Pocheon City, and Herb Island.

Regarding the agreement, Assistant Governor Choi Hyun-deok said, “The collaborative relationships between Gyeonggi Province and China and between the two countries have great potential. The agreement signed today will serve as a steppingstone to bring greater opportunities. I sincerely hope that Beijing Bridging Consulting will actively attract Chinese investors to Gyeonggi Province.”
