– Remodeling support in custom-built refurbishment project for low income households in Anjung2,8-ri
On May 13, 2015, Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Cooperation announced that they concluded an agreement with Pyeongtaek city on house remodeling support project for low income households in Pyeongtaek Anjung 2, 8 –ri. The president of Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Cooperation, Choi Geumsik and mayor of Pyeongtaek, Gong Jaegwang attended the meeting.
Custom-built Welfare Village House Remodeling Support Project is a project that improves deteriorated houses for low income households supported by Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Cooperation by funding one hundred million won to「Custom-built Welfare Village Project」which combined Custom-built Refurbishment Project, the resident-initiated regeneration project and house welfare project.
The construction began in 2014 by remodeling houses for 31 households in Moraetgot village in Siheung city and the cooperation is planning to support with a total 3 hundred million won in 3 regions; Pyeongtaek Anjung, Suwon Maesan and Sungnam Dandae.
Jung Gwantae, a director of Future Strategy Department in Gyeonggi Urban Innovation Cooperation mentioned, “We hope to encourage low income households’ willingness for self-sufficiency through deteriorated house remodeling in under-developed regions” and also stated that, “We are planning to process the project continuously to contribute in local society and to improve living environment in Gyeonggi-do.”
