The monument to commemorate, the altar and the commemorative arch for General Yu Eungbu, one of the Illustrious Six Loyal Ministers, were built here. He passed the military examination during the reign of King Sejong. He was Pyeongan-do Jeoljesa (governor) and Dongji Jungchuwonsa (commissioner) in 1455. He tried to kill King Sejo as the special guard for the king in the party to welcome the envoy from the Ming dynasty, China, in order to restore King Danjong, with Bak Paengnyeon and Seong Sammun in 1455. However, he died from torture due to the betrayal of Kim Jil. He was promoted to Byeongjo Panseo (Minister of War) by King Sukjong after death. King Sukjong gave him the pen name “Chungmokgong” and the commemorative arch as a patriot. The shrine was built with only the epitaph in 1746(22nd year of King Yeongjo’s reign) and named “Chungmokdan.” Yu Eungbu, Hannamgun Yi Eo, and Toe-eun Yang Chi were enshrined in 1890 (27th year of King Gojong’s reign).
