1. Introduction
With the not so tall height of 93cm, it is a rock cliff Buddha carved on a triangular rock with fine sculptorship and excellent proportions of the Buddha god. Because it is holding a medicine bowl, it shows why the name of the Buddha statute is Medicine Buddha. On the left side of the Buddha statute, an famous sentence of “Taepyeoinyeon Jeongchuk Chilwolisipguil Goseokbuljaeyeosaeul Jungsuwigeumsanghwangjemansewon” is engraved. This means “We wish long life for the current emperor as we restore the old rock Buddha in July 29, the second year of Taepyeong(977), the year of Jeongchuk.” On the side, there is a small waterfall (Gaeksan Waterfall) and a mineral spring.
