At 2pm on August 14, Korea China Castle Development, the developer of the Hyeondeok District in the Yellow Sea Free Economic Zone, hosted a briefing session for real estate compensation at the Grand Hall in the Pyeongtaek Western Culture Art Hall. More than 250 guests including real estate owners attended the session.

The briefing session explained the timeline for compensation, compensation criteria and contents in detail for real estate owners. It also served as a forum in which to gather the opinions of local residents and featured a Q&A session to increase awareness and help the project progress smoothly.

According to the briefing, the project will calculate compensation amounts through appraisals between September and December 2015, and start negotiations and payouts during the first half of 2016.

The Hyeondeok District in the Yellow Sea Free Economic Zone is a KRW 750 billion project covering 2,320,042㎡(approximately 700,000 pyeong) across Hyeondeok-myeon, Gwongwan-ri, Jangsu-ri, and Sinyeong-ri of Poseung-eup in Pyeongtaek City, with a completion date set for the end of 2018. The project introduces a new concept among free economic zones by transcending conventional development methods of constructing uniform industrial land and aims to attract tourists from China and surrounding countries by creating a hub for shopping tourism in Asia.
