Gyeonggi Province is organizing a group of health and medical service representatives to visit the city of Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia on September 1. Over a four-day mission, the group will attempt to attract foreign patients whom have remained reluctant to visit Korea in the aftermath of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome(MERS).
Seven organizations from Gyeonggi Province including the Catholic University of Korea, Saint Vincent, and Soonchunhyang University Hospital’s Bucheon Hospital will all take part in promotional activities in Ulaanbaatar.
This visit by Gyeonggi Province’s health and medical service representatives marks the first official visit since a delegation led by Gyeonggi Province Governor Nam Kyung-pil visited Ulaanbaatar and signed an MOU on cooperation last July.
With regards to the background of the visit, a Gyeonggi Province official explained, “If we can take advantage of its locational benefits, the Mongolian market offers great potential in terms of attracting patients to Korea.”
