Gyeonggi Province is hosting a training program for public officials from Guangdong Province in the People’s Republic of China who are visiting to study traffic policies and urban development strategies in Gyeonggi Province. 

The Gyeonggi Provincial Human Resource Development Institute hosts an invitational training program for 18 public officials from Guangdong Province in the People’s Republic of China. The program runs for four weeks from November 9 to December 4.

Gyeonggi Provincial Human Resource Development Institute CEO Lee Hee-won said, “Since we’re celebrating 10 years of cooperation between our institute and Guangdong Province in China, we’ve prepared a fruitful program to help the visiting public officials spend an even more meaningful time.” CEO Lee added, ‘”I hope this serves as a turning point that strengthens friendly ties as well as cooperation between the two regions.”

Guangdong Province has been a sister province of Gyeonggi Province since 2003 when the two regions signed a mutual cooperation agreement. The two provinces have conducted mutual public official exchange programs, and this year marks the 10th anniversary.”

This year’s training programs began with a preliminary briefing session on November 9 and continue onto December 4 with programs including special lectures by experts on subjects such as an introduction of Gyeonggi Province, traffic policies in Gyeonggi Province, urban development strategies of Korea, and the public official system in Korea. In addition, trainees will take field trips to various organizations in Gyeonggi Province including Pangyo Techno Valley, the Anyang Traffic Information Center, and Hongjae Library. 

The Gyeonggi Provincial Human Resource Development Institute has hosted training programs for public officials from Jiangsu Province, Shandong Province, Hubei Province, Liaoning Province, and Guangdong Province in China. So far a total of 59 Chinese public officials have completed training programs in Gyeonggi Province.
