The 2016 B.I.G. Forum, which will propel
key issues such as autonomous vehicles and smart cities while also providing a
vision for the future, will run from October 19 to 20 at the Gyeonggi Center

The 2016 B.I.G. Forum, which will propel key issues such as autonomous vehicles
and smart cities while also providing a vision for the future, will run from October
19 to 20 at the Gyeonggi
Center for Creative Economy & Innovation and Pangyo Startup Campus.
The
B. I. G. Forum of this year, which is hosted by Gyeonggi Province and Seoul
National University and organized by the Gyeonggi Contents Agency and Advanced
Institutes of Convergence Technology, will be joined by more than 2,000
participants including French Institute for Research in Computer Science &
Automation Director Fawzi Nashashibi, Tsinghua University Professor Keqiang Li,
and other renowned scholars, business leaders, and experts.This forum, which is held under the theme of ‘The Innovation of Autonomous
Vehicles and the Future Smart City’, is comprised of international sessions and
related events.
First,
the international forum consists of: Track A, with the theme of “The Era of Automated Driving, Change of Future
Transportation” (Session 1, 2,); and Track B, which
covers “Future Smart City Implementation” (Session 1, 2), thus dividing the forum into two tracks. The
forum will also include presentation and discussion sessions with experts from
various sectors.
Of
particular note, on the first day of the event, Gyeonggi Province Governor Nam
Kyung-pil, French Institute for Research in Computer Science &
Automation Director Fawzi Nashashibi, Tsinghua University Professor Keqiang Li,
and BWM Korea R&D Center Director Martin Woehrle will give present opening addresses,
discuss the current status of autonomous vehicles and smart cities, and share
their forecasts for the future.
On
the second day of the program, October 20, there will be various events such as
relay invitational seminars on “Future
Transportation, Environment, and Cities”, special lectures on the “Autonomous Vehicles and the Smart City Technology That
Change Our Future,” and
other related events such as the selection of excellent start-ups related to
Big Data through an audition program called ‘Big Star Contest”, and an
Omok game match between a human and an AI agent.
In
addition, simulation corners and promotional booths will provide information on
big data policies and the implementation cases of such systems. The programs
and events will be broadcast live through Gyeonggi Live.
This
forum is open to anyone who wishes to share ideas on the topics, and admission
is free. However, in the case of the
