This winter, when the sharp teeth of the icy wind force you to turn up your collar, the saying “there’s no place like home” will resonate in your heart once again. Take in a deep breath and unwind at Pocheon Herb Island, a sanctuary of fragrant smells that relax your body and mind. Do you know that its true appeal lies in winter, especially winter nights?

At the onset of dusk, a variety of colorful lights illuminate the surrounding exotic, picturesque landscapes. The “Lighting Show in Santa’s Village” will be an absolute delight for your eyes. The illumination on trees, buildings and sculptures evokes fantastic scenery like a sweet dream.

“Santa’s Village”, located deep in the mountains and surrounded by a nut pine grove releasing phytoncides, was inspired by a Santa’s Village in Finland. Although this village features Christmas year round, you can enjoy an even more special experience in December. Approximately 300 Santa Claus sculptures and Christmas trees, as well as a pink wishing tunnel with a length of 300 meters along which numerous wish cards are affixed, will remind you of lost childhood innocence.

Additional activities and events await your enjoyment. Make Vin Chaud, a French beverage made of mulled wine mixed with various spices and fruits, as well as Christmas items such as Christmas trees, wreaths and candlesticks, take pictures at a photo zone stacked with gift boxes, and put on a Santa outfit.

Icheon Termeden – whose name comes from a portmanteau of the German word “therme” referring to “hot springs” and “Eden,” the garden paradise from the Bible – is the first German-style spa resort in Korea. Incheon Termeden is surrounded by a forest that is interlaced with walkways that connect with the German-style hot springs.

The thermal waters of Termeden are rich in bicarbonate and sodium, and also contain silicic acid, sulfuric acid, calcium, and more that are effective in the promotion of health, boosting physical strength, relieving fatigue and stress, and rejuvenating skin. There is a round indoor pool equipped with ten different kinds of water treatment and massage facilities; it was modeled from German-style hot springs, making it ideal for relaxing a tired mind and alleviating body fatigue.

Outdoor, there are pools for couples, pools with pavilions, and open-air pools for special treatments using rice, rice wine and milk; these are not only good for the skin but also pleasant to see. Also, walking along the walkways around the pools, you can enjoy the beauty of the surrounding environment.

The Spa Village, a resort where families and couples can relax, provides individual pools. Night spa service is also offered so that the hot springs can be enjoyed on cold winter nights.
