Balance of payments for July has recorded 666 million dollars in black. This is the fourth month in a row since April.
But for the automobile export, which exceeded 150 million dollars every month this year, has reduced 19.9% compared to July of last year concluding to only recording 890 million dollars for July due to the Hyundai Motor Company strike. Automobile export for July is estimated to have a setback of 600 million dollars because of the strike.
According to the provisional total of actual exports in July (based on customs clearance) by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy on the Aug. 1st, export has increased 16% from last year’s results, recording 15.54 billion dollars. Import increased 14.1% by 14.87 billion dollars.
These results lead to the black balance of payments of 3.97 billion dollars until July.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy, days operated last year July was 23.8 days and the July of this year has increased 24.8. Export of information technology (IT) products such as wireless communication equipment, semiconductors, and computers are having a favorable balance even with the setback in automobile export.
