Eight distribution complexes will be constructed until 2006 that will not only reduce distribution costs but will also surface to a center of distribution.

In addition to the Yeoju Distribution Complex designated in ’99, the province has specified two areas in Pyeongtaek and Gwangju for construction, totaling 3 distribution complexes of 310,000 pyeong (1.032 million m²). Five distribution complexes of 102,000 pyeong (3.37 million m²) will be constructed until 2006.

A promotion to turn the distribution support facilities into a private station in Yeoju Distribution Complex, which takes up 80,000 pyeong (265,000 m²), is in progress and the distribution complexes in Pyeongtaek (150,000 pyeong/496,000 m²) and Gwangju (80,000 pyeong/271,000 m²) are currently undergoing construction planning for storage, collection and delivery facilities and also freight terminals.

Additional complexes of 280,000 pyeong (930,000 ㎡) will be built in Hwaseong-si (180,000 pyeong (600,000 m²)), Namyangju (100,000 pyeong (330,000 m²)) until 2005.

Construction plans to build distribution complexes of 740,000 pyeong (2.44 million m²) in Bucheon (110,000 pyeong/360,000 m²), Suwon (290,000 pyeong/960,000 m²) and Paju (340,000 pyeong/1.12 million m²) until 2006 are being discussed with related organs.

Benefits to designated distribution complexes include rights to land use and land reception on taxation, exemption from acquisition and registration tax, 50% reduction of property tax and integrated land tax. 50% state liability on construction costs for admission roads to complexes and 30% financial loan for real estate purchase costs will also be granted.

Completion of the 8 Gyeonggi-do distribution complexes (1.33 million pyeong (4.402 million m²)) is expected to greatly contribute to distribution industry development in Gyeonggi-do, which is already in a absolute position in metropolitan distribution transportation.
