This establishment will set an info-communication infrastructure for the province to become the center of the knowledge-based society in the 21st century.
Up to June, 724 complexes including Hyundai Apartment located in Neunggok, Todang-dong, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, have been granted information super-highway establishment certification from the Ministry of Information and Communication. These complexes take up 38% of total 2,275 complexes in Korea, which is the largest among the nation (Seoul 596, Pusan 234 complexes each).
The information super-highway certification policy grants certification to buildings equipped with appropriate installations for smooth high-speed info-communication support. This policy is supervised by the Ministry of Information and Communication and is expected to accelerate information communication installation in buildings.
According to the policy, apartments and office buildings which covers over 3,300㎡ or has more than 6 floors will be classified by 1, 2 and 3 ranks through a verification of wiring method, cable type, spare circuits, facility are and environment.
The policy is actively underway by Gyeonggi-do and home automation systems (safety/security, indoor environment management, health support, etc.) and home network (wired and wireless LAN) will be added to the base establishment. This will enhance residence quality by convenience in intelligent apartments and furnish a basis for liberal industry promotion for ventures and IT related enterprises.
