Agricultural Research and Extension Service of Gyeonggi Province will be providing training on becoming Korean wives for 33 foreigners who came to Korean on international marriage on the 4th at third floor auditorium of Agricultural Research and Extension Service Center Building.
The purpose of the training is to provide foreign wives from Philippines, China, Japan, and other countries, who were wed to our country’s farming families and were having difficult time adjusting to lives in Korea due to cultural and life style differences, traditional cultural experiences of various holidays and help them adjust to Korean family life styles by increasing their cultural awareness, according to the Agricultural Research and Extension Service.
The topic that will be covered includes the basics of Korean etiquette, such as handling body and minds, proper vows, making Korean traditional rice cakes using grapes, wormwood, and gardenia seeds, making mufflers using natural dye.
According to Agricultural Research and Extension Service’s Income Research Service and Mi Yong Choi, who is in charge of Life Style Change division, the sponsors of this event said “after living in different countries and when a man and a woman get married, there is greater chance that there will be social problems due to cultural differences and lack of cultural awareness. So this event was prepared in order to assist foreign women to better understand Korean cultures and customs to become better wives in Korea.”
