Korea Ranks 6th in Information and Communication Technology

The British Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has announced [International Benchmarking Study], which contained the results of the research of the information and communication technologies in 11 countries including the G7 nation
According to the data announced by DTI at the “2nd Korea-England E-commerce Policy Council” held in Seoul on Oct. 2, 2003 (Thru.),
Korea has ranked first place in Internet access rates and received high grades on knowledge-based decision-making and influential power.
However, the general score including human resources, environment, process and other matters related with information and communication technology has ceased at 6th place. Ireland is first, then Canada and America each ranked second and third.
DTI has prosecuted [International Benchmarking Study] research among G7 nations since 1998.
At the first Korea-England E-commerce Policy Council, held last year Sept. 26 in London, the research included developing countries such as China at the proposal made by MOCIE.
